How: No-Drop ride with occasional effort with full regroup. Front and rear lights required.

Criterium has restrooms and drinking fountains that you can use before the ride. The Criterium mechanics are also there for last minute emergencies with your bike.

This ride is open to members and first time guests (with signed waiver). SOCO Velo has a 30-day trial membership if you would like check out our club and ride with us!

Safe Group Riding
Our group practices safe riding by communicating with each other along the ride and following the rules of the road. SOCO Velo has a no tolerance policy for discrimination or unfriendly behavior.

SocoVelo and COS Racing Thursday Night Ride (April 30, 2026)

Join us next week at 5:30pm for a relaxed, good‑vibes social ride through the trails of Red Rock Open Space and the surrounding roads and bike paths of Old Colorado City. This is one of our favorite weeknight meetups—scenic, fun, and perfect for shaking off the day on two wheels.

We’ll roll at a social pace with multiple regroup points, making this ride welcoming for cyclists of all ages and abilities. Whether you're brand‑new to the trails or a seasoned rider looking for a friendly spin, you’ll find a great crew to share the miles with.

Ride of Silence 2026 (May 20, 2026)

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM, the Ride of Silence will traverse and unite the globe as nothing before it. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways, and to raise awareness that cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists.

The ride is free and open to all cyclists - road, mountain bike, gravel, trail, recumbent, etc. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Our Colorado Springs ride will begin and end at the Colorado Springs City Hall. All riders must wear helmets and have a working taillight during the ride, and sign a waiver before the ride. We are also looking for a few volunteers for the day of the event.

Location: The ride will begin and end at Colorado Springs City Hall. The schedule of events is:
6:00 pm – Riders begin to arrive and sign waivers.
6:45 pm – Welcoming remarks and the Ride of Silence poem is read.
7:00 pm – Riders depart.
8:00 pm – Riders begin to arrive back at City Hall.
8:30 pm - All riders have returned to City Hall

The ride is 8.5 miles long. We will ride at a speed of 8-10 mph. The max speed is 12 mph, and we will try to keep all the riders together so the lead riders will slow down at the front to avoid stringing out the line.

Green Box Beyond Bike Tour

When: Saturday, July 11 @ 8am

Where: Wines of Colorado, 8045 US-24, Cascade, CO 80809
How: No-drop ride with occasional effort with full regroup

We will be riding on quieter paved roads through Cascade and Green Mountain Falls before taking a gravel rod up to Joanie's Deli in Woodland Park.

This is a collaboration with Green Box Art Festival.

This ride is open to SOCO Velo members only and prospective members (FIRST RIDE ONLY WITH WAIVER). We do offer a free 30 day trial membership if you know someone who would like to ride, but is not yet a member.

Glenwood-Carbondale-Aspen (July 17, 2026)

Proposed dates: centered on weekends of July 18-19 or July 25-26
3-5 days of riding around Glenwood Springs, Carbondale and Aspen area

- Average 55mi/day with 2700ft of climb, no passes
- Core plan is 3 rides – Glenwood Canyon, Marble, Maroon Bells and Ashcroft
- Add-ons include Rudi Reservoir, Eagle County (with Glenwood Canyon)
- Altitude mostly 6000-8000 ft
- Lunch stops each day
I am considering 2 options for this event:

Cross-country (town-to-town). We would leave vehicles at the start point (Wolcott?) and ride to a different town each day. Having a support driver (or taking turns at this) would enable us to do the ride without carrying all our gear on the bike.

Home base in Carbondale area. We all drive there. Ride from home base or transport to the ride start each day.

Estimated lodging cost $300pp total for 3 nights in Air BnB or VRBO, higher (and less fun) if it’s hotel stays instead. Lodging plans will be adapted to people’s interest (number of nights).
Please be honest with yourself if you are or can be physically capable of doing this riding several days in a row.
Potential riders must qualify with at least 3 club rides before the end of May
